Mastering B2B Complexity: Custom Bundles and Pricing Engines

Context

Founded as Star Bédard in 1978, Beauté Star provides a diverse range of professional beauty products across Québec, Northern New Brunswick and Eastern Ontario. Each product is carefully curated to meet customer needs, supported by a creative team, ongoing customer education, and an extensive distribution network.

Over time, the company grew both its service area and its product and service offerings. It now boasts nearly 240 employees, around 20 representatives, and 24 stores.

Blue Badger Services

After Beauté Star decided to change agencies, the Blue Badger team jumped in to help them launch their Magento 2 website, which we supported while building their current Shopify Plus store. 

Given that the majority of their sales are B2B, Beauté Star has complex bundles that complicate their product pages, as many of their kits include free products. At Blue Badger, we help ensure these pages display these bundles correctly and integrate a third-party pricing engine using Shopify Functions and a custom application. 

Finally, we maintain/support their ERP/POS integration with Ogasys and their integration with Klaviyo.
