Context

Bluenotes traces its Canadian roots back to 1942, when it opened in Toronto under the name Thrifty’s. From the beginning, denim has been at the heart of the brand, with Bluenotes consistently introducing fresh fits, washes, and styles throughout the decades. As a result, it has maintained a reputation as one of Canada’s premier denim retailers.

Understanding that customers appreciate both fashion-forward trends and a relaxed lifestyle, Bluenotes focuses on wardrobe essentials—jeans, joggers, hoodies, graphic tees, plaids, and accessories—for everyday wear. With over 120 stores across Canada and an online shop that ships to both Canada and the United States, the company continues to grow, offering quality products at great prices. They are also the exclusive licensing partner for Aéropostale in Canada, creating collections designed exclusively for Canadian stores.

Blue Badger Services

Blue Badger supports Bluenote’s Shopify Plus store in addition to having built custom ship-to-store functionality, an integration with SVS Gift Cards so that they can use gift cards both online and in-store, a custom middleware build for syncing their products, orders and inventory with AS400, a Klaviyo integration, and a Nosto setup for personalization tools.

Due to the complex promotions Bluenotes often runs, our team maintains a custom promo engine to support their needs. At the same time, we have integrated their mobile app with Capcart, enabling them to offer exclusive promos and rewards to customers.

Finally, our team facilitated the switch from Shopify’s checkout.liquid file to Checkout Extensibility to ensure they wouldn’t lose any critical functionality or features once the .liquid file is sunset.
